Colour and marking:

All colours intense and in the same hue all over the body. Coppers have a rich dense copper colour (chestnut brown), the tail is of a bluish black colour with a hue of copper and a black tail bar. The flights end in black. The front part of the wing shield is flecked (wither lighter or darker), primary and secondary flights and their coverts and the entire tail are coloured.

Serious faults:

Too big, too long or too narrow body, other head shape than then standard calls for, too low set crest, beak too short or too feeble, beak colour heavily off, yellow eye ceres, hanging flights, wide or fanned tail; heavy mismarkings, white feathers in flights and tail, any visible albescence when flights and tails are closed
